Mizuho to Acquire Augusta & Co., Bolstering Renewable Energy Advisory Services

Mizuho Financial Group has agreed to acquire Augusta & Co Limited, a specialist financial advisory firm focused on renewable energy and energy transition sectors. The deal will see Mizuho take full ownership of Augusta's advisory business while retaining its brand and leadership team. Augusta's asset management operations remain excluded from the transaction.

The acquisition strengthens Mizuho's M&A advisory capabilities in the energy transition space, positioning the group to leverage Augusta's expertise in renewable energy dealmaking. Yutaka Nanjo of Mizuho Securities called the MOVE "an exciting step forward" in supporting clients' shift toward low-carbon economies.

No financial terms were disclosed. The transaction follows Mizuho's strategic push to expand its sustainable finance offerings amid growing institutional interest in energy transition investments.
